I began this one on commission 7 months ago! I slacked off a bunch because good case work is nearly impossible while living in a city. Early January, I began the PS2 compendium and other research which completely changed the initial design and I ended with a much better unit all around. yay procrastination. This is my last commission I will take on for a long time so I can focus on other projects. Enjoy.

Build log:
https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/portable-ps2.912/

Specs:
-5" 4:3 screen with VGA
-7.4v 5A battery pack and barrel jack charging port. Should last 3-4 hours on full charge
-Internal Freemcboot memory card and USB port
-2nd Player port
-2nd Memory card port
-Speakers and switching headphones
-Full sized PS2 joysticks and DS2 controller
-Low battery indicator active ~10 minutes
-I must admit the case and layout was largely influenced by Downing's N64 portable line

Absolutely beautiful. Almost makes me want to make a PS2 portable... maybe one day.
Also, open it up and post nudes.

I love it! Very nice build @Gman.

Is the output of the video 480p or 480i and will you be releasing the custom DAC board?

Post internals if possible please :D

The video output is going to be progressive or interlaced depending on the game, there's a list of 480p games here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_games_with_alternate_display_modes
Also he linked in the first post the worklog of this build. You can see the internals here: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/portable-ps2.912/page-3#post-16078

And a handful of games even in 1080i !

Awesome portable gman! If I hadn't been following your work I would have sworn it was some kind of emulation to get it that small.

Looks sooooo good! So modern lookin

too triggered by the lexar drive to appriciate portable

just get a PSP, everyone knows those memory card thingies are better

I like how it flashes - makes me think of police lights. Very fitting since he was demoing GTA.
Built in dualshock 4 lightbar functionality
