You might get this a lot but I didn't know trimming the motherboard was this hard. Also how do I test my PTH08080s with the multimeter to see if they are working or not?
Hi, does anyone know how many Ohm resitors and wires I should need?
Some people suggest using stranded wire instead of solid, since it's more flexible, but I think that's really just a matter of personal preference. Make sure to get some thin magnet wire like Ginger said in any case: http://www.remingtonindustries.com/magnet-wire/magnet-wire-34-awg-2-oz-1011-length/
So just get all of those and I will be good for relocating the stuff for my motherboard? thanksSome people suggest using stranded wire instead of solid, since it's more flexible, but I think that's really just a matter of personal preference. And try to buy a resistor assortment. You'll use 'em, trust me! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y5Y76XX/
Thanks manSo, for the PTH08080s, you'll need specific resistors to get the right voltages. For the 1V regulator you need an 87 kilohm resistor. One that's 88 or 90 kilohms will work. For the 1.15V line, get a 33 kilohm resistor. You need a 1.8 kilohm resistor for the 3.3V line, and a 330 ohm for the 5V line if you decide to use a PTH08080 for it. Try to get 5% or 1% resistors, not 10%. The lower the percentage, the more accurate the resistor's value.
No problem. Just be sure to browse through the old threads. I'm more than happy to help out, but just so you know, a lot of your questions will be answered by reading through other folks' questions! Thanks man
Just another question, do you have any links to some work logs? I tried finding some but they didn't really have any pictures of the internals showing at all.No problem. For sure. Jackson's Wii SP portable has some of the best and cleanest internals in my opinion: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/wii-sp.323/Just another question, do you have any links to some work logs? Thanks so much! I'll be sure look at that! For sure. Jackson's Wii SP portable has some of the best and cleanest internals ever in my opinion: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/wii-sp.323/
Then make it happen. What's your plan for constructing it?I could dream my wii portable could be like this
Honestly though, that's totally doable. You've got an OMG trim, so fitting it all in there wouldn't be an issue. Then make it happen
