I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here it goes.
Is their anyway to tell if the motherboard is 4 or 6 layer by the model number?
I read somewhere that the RVL-101 is usually 4 layer but I am not sure if this is correct.
I know that the RVL-001that I have is a 6 layer, but I am not sure on other Wiis.
Thanks in advance.

The easiest, is to ask the seller for the number in the coin battery slot, but if it's a coloured shell black or such you're more likely to find a 4 layer, if the owner didn't shell swap. I bought 2 black wii non working disc drive and have a #60 board.

Moved to Wii modding. Only took 2 tries and help from an administrator.

The thread Stitches posted is the best place to start for revision hunting. Here's my thread of documentation specifically about the correlation between revisions and serial numbers. It's also stickied at the top of this subform if you need to find it again https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.p...iis-revision-based-off-of-serial-numbers.716/
