would it be possible for something like this to happen with the acrylic light diffuser and shortstack pcbs (not assembled)? id be interested in a "kit" where these were included. i may still sign up for this later though.

I’d have to figure out how to source the acrylic, but I’ll likely have some extra boards regardless. You’d be in your own for the BOM though

So I have boards and power strips and pheriflexes for all 10 heatsinks, just waiting on loopj to cut us some of the acrylic diffusers then I can start collecting money and shipping stuff out

I printed the diffusers, going to be putting together "kits" this week. Just kinda forgot about it all

I think the resin diffusers should work, but you may want to do acrylic ones anyway because resin is quite brittle.

Just to cover my ass this is not a full kit, you will only recieve what is pictured below. You will still need to source the nandflex and fujiflex and associated boms, along with the rest of the bom for short stack itself.

This is what you will receive

The resin printed diffuser. I think it will work fine but acrylic may look better. Either way, its a free bonus. They warped a bit while curing so you can either put them in hot water and let them soften up and cool on a flat surface with something heavy on top, or its flexible enough it will "smush" just fine between the board and the front plate of the shell.
