I have a microsd adapter, how do I have to solder it to the memory card? All the images I saw are for soldering to the SD adapter but I didn't see any for microSD adapter

Read the diagrams

I read the diagrams but it is not the same as mine.

instead of having the pin "MISO" I have "MOSO"
and instead of having "3v3" I have "VCC"

Even though I have some different ones, I soldered them the same and tried them and it didn't work.

MOSO is probably a typo for MISO, and VCC is your voltage input which judging from the onboard linear reg might be 5v. Where did you buy this thing? You might want to switch to using a normal microSD to SD adapter

I made an ultra slim ps2 with a 3D printed black and white case, built-in HDMI, Bluetooth controllers, touch switch and MX4SIO
Can you go into a little more detail or maybe share some pictures of the inner housing? I was thinking to do the same, but also remove the controller and Memcard ports entirely and add an sd2psx to the first slot hard wired....

Can anyone share how to wire Shepards Analog2HDMI? I order one from: https://electron-shepherd.com/products/electronanalog. I tried to figure it out from the attachments but not successfully.

I think I got the 5V (yellow), R(red), G(green), B(blue), Audio Left(white), and Audio Right(purple) but I'm not sure where GND (black) on the PS2 is and what is the situation with the orange wire.

This red rectangle is not clear to me, what excatly is wired and how.

Edit:
I figured it out. According to this post: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/video-encoder-pinout.4787/ where I found this pinout:

It seems that orange and black are just both wired to GND. I also confirmed it with multimeter.

Anyone have a fuse location picture of a GH-062-02 motherboard or similar? My PS2 79001 won't power on? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi all.

Thank you @Wesk for providing a detailed guide and support for all out there.

I hope someone could help me.

I recently bought a PS2 7XXXX in an unknown condition for $10. The goal was to just tinker with it. The plan was to make it work from a powerbank and maybe find some small TFT screen with AV input to be able to play when there is no electricity. Also, this was the only option to power the console because it came without a power brick and I didn't want to buy one. The experiment was a success. I hooked up a PD3.0 trigger board and successfully powered the console with 9V. During modding I noticed that the console is equipped with a Modbo 4.0 chip but the irony is that it has no drive. During that time I came across this thread about making an "Ultra Slim" PS2 and got intrigued by the SD Card setup. I wasn't planning on cutting a piece off because the case said 70XXX but to my surprize, the actual board reported 79XXX.

I have a PS2 fat with FHDB and a 64MB memcard. FMCB won't install on that card but I can just put OPL there. Which I did. On the slim PS2 I managed to launch Silent Hill 4 from a usb stick which was a mild success.

So now I want to make it into an "Ultra Slim" that would only need an SD Card (MX4SIO) to work. My problem is that I am sure FMCB won't work with a modchip. Also, the modchip menu (triangle + circle) doesn't output video but it can boot in DEV1 mode (MC0:\BOOT\BOOT.ELF). I think I'd also be ok with having a memcard (for OPL)+ SD Card (MX4SIO) but Ideally I'd want to get rid of a memcard. SD Card is now hardwired to Slot 2. I do not want to remove the modchip because it is too gentle, I am afraid of screwing up the whole board.

My questions are as follows:

1) Can I get rid of a memcard and load OPL directly from SD, where the games will be located too?
2) Can I do something about Matrix (modchip config menu) giving me a black screen?
3) How would I check my MX4SIO works as intended?
4) Is it necessary to have a resistor between ACK and GND? Is it enough to just have a wire? Why is it even there? My cards do not load but I have one cheapo noname and the other is Transcend class 4, So I am waiting for my new Samsung card to arrive to be able to properly test it

Hardware on hand:

PS2 Slim
PS2 Fat+FHDB
64MB memcard
16GB USB stick
MX4SIO hardwired without a resistor to Slot 2 on a Slim

Thank you in advance.

P.S. Sorry if some things don't make sense, I might be using the terms incorrectly, feel free to correct me.

You can press Start Button at console launch. You will see text "Disabled". After that reset console and everything will be work properly.

It's funny, but I also bought a console with a modbo chip without a dvd drive. :D

Thank you for the suggestion. I did this, saw the text, restarted the console and nothing changed, seemingly. I still get black screen when trying to go to config menu and still can launch OPL with R1 from memcard. Not sure if I am doing something wrong

Surprise update!. I've made some minor changes to some areas of the cases to improve tolerances as well as increasing thicknesses to improve printing quality for sites like PCBway.

The largest update is shells that will accommodate ElectronShepherds "ElectronAnalog" HDMI board as well as the new RetroGem HDMI solution.

MachoNacho has covered the former here:

Wow this is just in time. Was about to print the case but I have to mod the original design first to accomodate a PowerDelivery trigger board. Good I didn't start with the older revision. Huge thanks for the step files!

Thought somebody might find this helpful.

UPD 06/14: Finally got to test my "build". MS4SIO works very well with a 100Ohm resistor. The downside is that I have to reinsert the card in the slot so the OPL will recognize it. Strangely, flicking the switch on/off didn't act like this and I have to physically reinsert the SD card. But this is a minor drawback.

During the manuplations with the board I somehow managed to blow the PS17 fuse (IIRC) and the fan stopped working. PWM signal wire still works fine so I just rewired the fan +/- directly to power input. This will do, I guess.

Matrix still won't display anything in both composite and component outputs. As @yji mentioned, can just insert FMCB card and temporarily disable modchip using Start button (I didn't know how it works before. Now I do) I decided to just load uLaunchElf in DEV1 mode (R1 button) and launch OPL from there. Works good enough.

Now that I played around with it a little, I don't think it is possible to load both OPL and games from a single SD card but I'd be happy to know if there is a solution.

Console draws [email protected] when playing Silent Hill 4. More demanding games might draw more but I didn't test it.

So I printed the case and it doesn't fit very well for me =(

While it looks fine at a glance:

The halves do not sit well against each other for some reason. It is fine without the board, but once the board is inside the shell goes all crooked and misaligned. I noticed it is resisting a lot right around the ethernet port.

It was hard to put the board inside the bottom half because the USB port was pushing on one of the walls it should sit between. I managed to sit it inside with just a bit of work and I noticed that while the holes on the front were all aligned, the rear left peg was aligned, but the rear right was misaligned.

My printer is by no means a perfect one, but I've printed well over a few dozens of spools by now and while it is not very clean it should be dimensionally accurate. The SD adapter slot was a snug fit so I doubt the printer is out of wack. The memcard and controller ports were well aligned too. This makes me think that either this is something wrong with my specific board or the CAD model is a bit off.

I modified the STEP files slightly to fit a PD trigger board and removed the original DC receptacle hole but didn't touch anything else.

I hope someone could advise.

P.S. This is how the PD board looks from the inside. I will post STEP and STL later today. I removed the airflow walls to see if they are causing trouble with haves fitting. They were not.
