That's what I was thinking with the external battery pack. Batteries have always been a pain to me when they eventually die but at least this way when they did I could replace and keep moving along.
And you were reading my mind with the larger speakers, I even thought about putting a low pass filter on them and mounting them in a mini bandpass style speaker box on the inside to just put out bass, (I also do car audio on the side here and there, lol!!) . This might interfere with the rumble motor, even tough I am using the original HUGE rumble motor from the original GC Controller... but it would have a killer sound system.
