Here I was ready to start my worklog about my joycon/wavebird combo I've lovingly dubbed the JoyBird, and PowerA has beat me to the punch announcing this today:

I'm excited that someone finally made a GCN wireless for us casuals (c'mon Nintendo, Wavebird 2)
I'm still going to make mine because this doesn't magically fix the clip that secures the sr lr ribbon. Stay tuned for that!

Addendum: also it doesn't have rumble, rechargeable batteries, ir, or nfc, all which I intend to still fit somewhere in that Wavebird shell

It's also third party, and 3rd party GameCube controllers are infamous for being just awful quality.

While I've found this to be true, you gotta remember that "third-party" doesn't refer to any particular third party. So it's possible that these are find. Just depends on the company. I'm certainly not going to be the first to buy one of these, but you got my attention.

The actual product photos have centred lettering, not sure how they messed that up in the renders.
