PS2 Ultra Slim

LOL! Same here, many late nights.
I made this version by modifying the files provided by wesk. This is a result of my frustration with my first try of the project ( I managed to lift the reset pad and bricked my board when fixing ). Also I liked the idea that the console is theoretically restorable to stock, as no traces are cut with the included power button. Other modifications include the sd card and switch moved to the back, and the sd card holder changed so that the board holds it in place.
The power button is a 12mm push button with a holder.
It'd be a chonky build, but yeah this is what people used to do before the 7900X trim was available.
Yea, it's nothing revolutionary. But this works for me, and I still get to enjoy the small ps2 aesthetic.
The extra room inside is indeed nice if I want to add batteries or other modules in the future

Sure thing. The button was a bit tight on my print. You can adjust the tolerances, or just sand its edges so that it presses smoothly and doesnt bind. Also as I didnt rename the file, you get to enjoy how every kid called the ps2 in finland back in the days

As far as I understand it's more to do with the over volting risk. 3A for the Ultra Slim is good. This device is nice as you can put it at the correct voltage with one board. Others have done the 9V and its been fine. For me, I prefer to stay with the OEM voltage range (just in case).

I would not be surprised if OEM adapters output close to 9V even with a load 
. I just checked the adapter I was using to test my 79K (no disc drive) setup and it's a 9V 2A lol, seemed to work OK even when playing stuff like Burnout 3. I'll have to put it on the bench supply one of these days and see what it actually pulls.

That PPS solution is really nifty, but keep in mind that 8.5V with ±10% tolerance is 7.65V - 9.35V. So there's no risk whatsoever in using 9V.
The Anker 511 (Nano 3) has both a 9V/3A fixed PDO and a 3.3-11V/3A PPS PDO, so it's perfect for both approaches

I would normally not mind the extra voltage but this is my childhood ps2, so I really don't wanna break it, and if it did blow up because i passed it 9V then I would probably not forgive myself haha
Yea, skip the mx4sio and switch if you plan on using MMCE via MemCardPro 2, SD2PSX, or PSXMemCard Gen2.
If you use a FMCB card you have USB or SMB to load backups. MMCE is even better than MX4SIO anyways.

I haven’t come across anything myself. On a positive note, it’s great to have an abundance of 70k models, lol! Well, just my opinion.

Managed to get my hands on a 79k and try this project, managed to cut the board and power it on but I am thinking of relocating the front ports since there isn't enough space to plug controllers/memory cards in, inside my car's rear arm rest. Has anyone ever tried relocating the ports?
