Hi all — i'm new, first time posting. I'm based in Italy (EU) and I'm looking to commission a builder for two custom console builds:
1. A PlayStation 5 in a laptop/clamshell form factor
2. An Xbox Series X in the same laptop/clamshell form factor

To be clear on scope: I'm NOT after a battery-powered handheld. I know current-gen power draw (~200W) makes that impractical. What I want is closer to Ed Zarick's old PlayBook / XBOOK concept — the console guts rearranged into a clamshell case with a built-in screen, mains-powered, that I can carry in a bag and plug in wherever I am. Basically a "transportable" all-in-one rather than a true handheld.

What I'm looking for (all flexible — very open to your recommendations):
- Built-in display, roughly 15–17" (open to whatever works best)
- HDMI-out so I can dock it to a TV would be a big plus
- Solid cooling — I'm aware both consoles run hot in a confined case
- Clean, durable build quality over flashiness

Logistics:
- I can either ship you the consoles or have you source them — whatever you prefer
- I'm in the EU, so the build needs to run on 230V mains (I believe the PS5/Series X internal PSUs are 100–240V, but the screen's power supply would need to be EU-compatible or shipped with the right adapter)
- I'll cover international shipping and any import costs on my end
- Timeline is flexible

Budget: I understand this is premium, time-intensive work and I have a realistic budget for it. I'm happy to pay a deposit up front and to discuss numbers openly — please quote me what each build would run.

I know this is a big and slightly unusual ask for current-gen hardware, so no worries if it's not your thing. If you'd be up for it (or even just one of the two), reply here or DM me — happy to move the conversation to Discord as well.

Thanks for reading!

For a reasonable amount of money, a PSOne screen style addon like this is probably your best bet. These consoles are gigantic and pretty monsterously thick. It would take some pretty sophisticated engineering and a complete overhaul of the cooling to squeeze one into a thin laptop form factor.
