The Gearshift is meant to be a universal portable, allowing you to play just about any console on a handheld. It uses a wireless AV transmitter and receiver pair to send audio and composite video to the handheld from a home console. It features an integrated wireless ps2 controller and 5 inch lcd screen. Inside is a 10,000mAh lipo battery that should last a very, very long time since it's not powering a console (battery life currently untested).
It's built inside of a Sega Gamegear and has the ability to shift from one console to another, hence the name
You can:
Watch Netflix on a wii
Play Halo or Burnout 3 on an Xbox
Play Spyro on a ps2
...And much more! There are controller adapters for ps2 to Gamecube, wii, all PlayStation consoles, and all Xbox consoles, pc and probably more.
The Gearshift also has the ability to function as just a wireless video and audio device, letting you watch movies on your dvd player while someone else is using your tv. You could even have it play music through the speakers while you use the screen and controller for a game. The sky is the limit!
Range:
The console has good range, allowing you to sit wherever you want around the house without experiencing cutouts. There is no noticeable lag, but the video and audio will get some interference if you walk around while playing.
