Portables
KiWii Portable (In progress)
I recently dug through my old Wii Gamepad project files and came across this! It would be a perfect drop in custom replacement board for the Power, TV, and Home buttons, along with the TV and Battery LED Indicators.

I'm sure it took a heap of time, but the security of those looms will keep that rig running smoothly through any and all bumps and tumbles
Yes it took a fair bit of time, and it will now take even more.

If you study my photo you'll notice I made a glaring huge mahoosive mistake lol

The Nano cannot be used as a HID :eyeroll:

In my rush to gain some extra input pins I ditched the pro micro I had in my hand and grabbed the Nano.

Huge mistake lol, not irreversible obviously but a lesson learned!

Nevermind

Thank you for digging that out, I'd come across it before but lost where it was!

Unfortunately I can't see the Google sheets doc, is that a BOM?

With that kind of work maybe also a Wii can be placed inside :XD:
Love the way you manage your wiring! @JMCD
Thank you! although I have been an idiot and will have to redo those wires lol.

Yes @LCandell that is the very next plan for the spare gamepad. I cannot wait, but have vowed not to begin until this is done.

Decided to play with the LCD driver's firmware to try and cheer myself up after HID failure lol.

Driver being poked to read it's firmware, using I2C over HDMI raspberry Pi.

Time to take a look through it tweak, and reflash. Hopefully.

Many thanks to Floppes for providing the python tool and insights on I2C over HDMI.

His github repo can be found here:

I hope it is ok to post the link, just want to give credit where it's due.

Just a quick update of sorts...

This project isn't dead, it's been a busy year, the dust should settle soon... and now that autumn is approaching there will hopefully be some time to revisit it.

I have in the meantime acquired a 2nd hand Ender 3 Pro and have been getting that up and running (and modded of course ;)).

I needed to print some small port surrounds to address the gaps on the original case now that alternative ports are being used.

That was a steep learning curve!
