Hello, I've found this website to be very interesting and I enjoy all the ideas and ingenuity, so I decided to post a worklog of my Ashida build to share yet another build and, of course, have the ability to ask questions and get advice from the more experienced people here.
I first saw the portable Wii's while I was building a Gameboy Zero with a raspberry pi zero, and once I saw the Ashida thread on this website, I knew I had to build one. So, here's the first steps in the process. I started out by printing the Ashida case and flashing the Nintendo Wii with RVLoader. I patched out the WiFi as recommended, but I believe I may have made an error in locking the video output to VGA. This means it'll have to have a VGA screen wired up in order for it to work (I think), which means more work but not too big a deal.
A question: where are you guys getting the extra 'Z' button? I cannibalized one Gamecube controller, but when looking at the aftermarket button packs, I haven't seen any Z buttons that come with the little metal tab/spring with it so I'm a little worried that the button work work right without it.
