PS2 Ultra Slim

im not building an ultra slim as 79K models are quite literally impossible to come by in finland, im using a 77k, with fmcb and an internally soldered sd card and a card running fmcb in the first slot, i dont have a pico pi, the shipping is expensive here in finland and i dont really feel like i need an MMCE. ill just use the sd cord in the second slot. thanks a lot for the help! this will be a system i will be taking with me to parties etc, so i wont be able to use the network port unfortunately, and i want to use it for games with revived network functionality anyways. Is fmcb the best exploit? ill install it with freedvdboot, i have some blank DVD-Rs. Ive also heard opentuna is the best or something? im a bit confused
FMCB is a good exploit but limiting.

I have a more comprehensive exploit setup at https://ps2store.com that uses PS2BBL unlimited paths and then "works it way down" for your hacked OSDSYS of choice. To work down you just delete from the top.... Look at the UMCS section for more info.

PSBBL allows one to auto/hotkey from more devices but also doesnt force FMCB as your hacked OSDSYS, and the added benefit is that PSBBL is much more compatible with modchips. I know it works fine for the last good orig 3rd gen modchips.

Hello, I would like to know if AWG30 wire is sufficient for soldering an SD card reader?

Hi all, I've completed the build on a 79003, it all went very smooth. My only issue is pretty bad video noise. I'm powering via the HW-398 set to 9v, a good quality ugreen power supply, and a good quality usb-c power cable. Has anyone had a video noise problem at all, or have any tips on what might help fix it? Thanks all.

Far from being an expert; I am building my first UltraSlim currently.

But based on different posts & threads I’ve read, have you tried shielded cable for the component cables going to your ElectronAnalog? Read that it can help with video noise.

So I've cut the board and wanted to ressurect/keep the original power button PCB. I checked the pinouts and tried to solder it to the closest points but the LED just doesn't come up (the power button works). Now, I dont 100% know if its not fried so maybe its just not worth it, but has anyone done the same and found some nice pinouts for the LED?

So I have a ps2 ultra that works great and decided to do another. I was doing an order on Aliexpress and happened to to recommend electron analog on there since I had an order going and free shipping(I should have ordered the valentines day special).. but when it arrived it only appeared to be a clone with no branding... once installed the picture was very dark during gameplay but audio . Can anyone confirm that its the Clone causing that issue? And apologies to the people at Electron Shepard for not ordering directly this time...

How does the video look from the original AV port? Do you have a way to test? I know some newer televisions don't have component inputs anymore and I am assuming that why you are asking here?

I went ahead and sent over the solder from the other side with HDMI picture it looks a lot darker than the photo. I'll send a photo of how it looks on AV when I get home on my TV with a side by side comparison.

One thing I noticed. I know your clone board is "working" but the real ElectronAnalogs will not work from power here. It cannot provide what is needed (directly from ElectronShepard support).

Use 5v from the USB power rail. Maybe with this clone its the same scenario. Maybe check the voltage on the clone when powered on, I would assume it will be less than 5V - that could be an issue.

Thanks! I will give this a go tonight as well. I did run my other 79000k the way shown above and its as crisp as AV can get lol, but this board could have some different fluctuations I got it for $20 and power plug was already re-flowed

I moved the 5V to the USB port and the picture is still the same. I tested wires with a Multi meter as well from one end to another and had continuity. Something has to either be up with one of the color wires with a weak signal or its the clone. The AV photo shows no green but I did amp the brightness up some but thats always needed on LCD tvs. Also the System Config screen is on the HDMI and does not have much green tint besides the black borders.
Unfortunately I can't do anything else until Saturday or Sunday but I do appreciate all the tips so far! My roomate is getting a UV printer so will send some photos once I paint my first Ultra! This one I did on a glass bed for a shiny texture. And is already scratching lol.

It is safe to conclude that since we are taking the analog signal from the same contacts the AV cable uses, and the component output to your LCD display looks fine, your wiring is correct. The adapter is the problem.

Ive decided to do my first refund through Aliexpress on the 2 I ordered, I'll buy the correct ones after they have accepted the return.

Is shipping expensive for you on the ElectronAnaolgs where you live. I noticed recent y the price on then has dropped from $18.99usd to $15.99USD other than shipping that is a good price on them. I think they work really well.

On the actual website it's s actually 13.99 where I live and free shipping at about $60 spent and when they had the valentines day special it was a really good deal. I had spent about $40 or so on 2 on Ali with free shipping... I was too sporadic because I was buying a memcard pro gen 2 when I saw them on there and the price seemed ok at the time. I'll probably buy enough to build other things when I order. But that lower price makes me wonder if it's possibly getting phased out before a new release.

Oops, I had that wrong — you’re right, it’s $13.99. Yes, I think you’re right. That’s a very good possibility.

Got refund and ordered 2 real electron analog and 1 electronpulse for my Fat PS2 with it. I found other posts with people complaining about bad clone chip quality with photos. I'll update with both Slim Ultra builds after.
