Hi guys,

this idea is very young (yesterday), so i don't have much to say right now... just wanted to make it official:

Video will most likely be component, not VGA! i think my screen supports it.. (It's mst703-lf based).

So no way turning back now >.<'' which me luck! Hope my PS2 trim doesn't die on me this time.. otherwise i will just throw a wii in there..

Here's the first update.. the good news is - i know how i will (most likely) design the hinges!
The bad news is, my ps2 trim isn't working... just like my first "standard" trim, it just doesn't turn on, when pressing reset.
All the voltages seem fine, no shorts, 1.25V is drawing 0.8A & "the rest" 0.15A at 5V. the chips seem to get a little warm, just very slightly.

i already reconnected a few traces, cause i think i might have trimmed a little to far on the edges of the small site.

The setup is as follows:
1.25v via PTR08060 or PSU
1.75v via LDO at 3.3v
2.5v via LDO at 3.3v
3.3v via PTH08080
5v via PSU (is it even required to boot?)

I'll check if the voltages are available on all required traces tomorrow..

I'm at the point of learning CAD software too. it's very disheartening.
I'm coming along fine with fusion so far.. even if it does weird stuff sometimes.. kicad is very different from eagle & somehow we didn't become friends, yet :D

Hi, excuse me what linear regulator I use for the 1.75v line?

I recycled two wii LDOs, like this one: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?attachments/pq070xh02zxh_e-336951-pdf.5195/

Here are my notes & resistor values i've used/calculated.. but you should calc your self, since idk if i might changed something in the end!:
1.25v ~3.1A --> BIG PTR08060 --> 1.21v == 1.91k (may used 1.8k-ish)
1.75v ~0.1A --> LDO (at 3v3) --> R1=3.3k ; R2=8.06k
2.5v ~0.1A --> LDO (at 3v3) --> 10k & 10k / any, just use two times the same resistor value < 80k!
3.5v ~0.1A --> 3.3v PTH --> 1.87k

Thank you, I was watching but I do not appear where I can get it, any alternative for this regulated?

Alright, today was a quite productive day. cleaned up my flat, thought about my project & made some progress.

I did some work on the mainboard, too. First i cleaned up the voltage relocation (so much to rewire >.< - wii's are so comfy)..

Orange: 3v3, Green: 2v5 , Grey: 1v25, Red: 5v, White: 1v75

Also i can pretty much confirm that my ZJ050NA screen is accepting the interlaced vga signal from the ps2 (Green should be cause the console is still set to component):

All in all i think i'm coming along fine & i feel like i'm really taking my time with this project.

1 Million F360 designs later...

Feels like i finally getting forward with the design.. slowly but surely...

Thicc. Nice work though, looks sweet. How are you planning on integrating the R3 click of the PS2 controller? Are you going to be using switch sticks?

Looks like a comfy handheld. Can’t wait to see it finished!

thx dude..

yea, well f*** me.. i forgot about R3/L3.. so i had to switch to switch sticks... took me quite some time, but i think this could work out..

R3/L3 - yeah I've done that. While you might be classy and add another shoulder button I gave up and just put in bigger sticks.

OOooofff...

A lot has happend the last few days.. it feels like i did nothing else but work on this flipping thing.. but slowly there is an end in sight! Luckily, because i will not have much time to work on this the next weeks.. (and i don't want to anyways - >.<'' )

As always I did a lot of test print, to make everything fit perfect.. but this damn clamshell.. it feels like i'm not making one, but multiple cases... that fit perfectly together.. wait..

Anyhow, i'm actually quite hyped for this guy! When everything works out as planed, it could become pretty dank.

ToDo;
:rothink: Name?! (the "wii" is so much easier >.<)
:rothink: Final design/colors/theme?! (thought of: star wars, resident evil or just ps2 logo... black is beautiful..)
:rothink: Finalize holders, bottom half, shoulder-button-button-holders, .........................
