Need help trying to sand down a motherboard, what’s the best way I could accomplish this
Yea I’m trying to see what can be trimmed, I know I won’t know until I sand it. not my picsSanding how? are you trying to build a diagram of internal traces? are you sanding the edges after trimming?
A little more information is required.
Which grit sand paper would you recommendFirst step is to remove all of the surface mount components. As for sanding I believe it just takes a LONG time and is best done by hand. @Shank is no stranger to this.
[EDIT]
Also, you MUST wear a dust mask.
Thanks for advice, even if it’s just the outer copper I trim, at least it’ll be a little smaller, i think I read online the PS3 uses 80 watts.Once you get the solder mask off, at least 1000 to make sure you don't lose any small traces. Also, good luck trimming this, it won't be able to be a handheld system as it draws too much power, and you won't be able to trim much beyond the ground strip around the outside as all the required components are on the edges and too high speed to be rewired by hand...
