Hey there! I have been poking around the internet preparing for a Wii Portable project (Read exploration) with a few other students interested. I think I got most of it nailed down but I still cannot understand the wiring and programming for controllers. I know there's a GC+ 2.0 board that helps with a lot of it, but I still have a lot of questions on what buttons one would recommend and where you could get them. Is there a place I could start with for figuring out the controller wiring or a few examples of how some of you have done it before?

Thanks in advance for your time, and have a nice day!

You can find a wiring diagram for GC+ 2.0 on the 4layer tech pages under the "Documents" tab: https://4layertech.com/products/gc-2
For buttons, I'm not sure if you're talking about buttons or the actuators. Typically you have some buttons (like switch buttons or gamecube controller buttons) on top of squishy tact switches, or use a PCB with contacts and re-use the silicone pads to short them.

I see, thanks! I read through the GC+ 2.0 documentation, and I get most of it now!
