It’s been a bit since my last update. School has started and between that, work, and Destiny 2 I barely get time to work on this. I have been making slow progress though.

I added a better charge and play situation with one of the boards talked about in the batteries discussion. I also got some larger gauge wire to better manage the power lines. I got my GC+ wired up and working with my buttons and sliders. Really not I just need to finish my case and get everything set up to fit.

I worked on it a little bit last night and here’s where I’m at. Obviously I’ve got lots to do still, shoulder buttons, fan airflow, etc. etc. but it’s coming along!

Hey link270 - is that a scenario for the dynamical evolution of the solar system? Because that's a nice model.

I'll see myself out.

I don't know much about 3d printing but don't you want the top of the case to be flat so that it prints easier? I would imagine having the bump for the ABXY buttons and/or the raised speaker grill would cause issues.

A 3d printer may also have trouble printing those tiny speaker grill holes. I remember ginger had a problem with this in his. I love your case though...

For a hobby or entry-professional 3d printer, a speaker grill like on the original GBA (not SP) or on the original DMG will print much better than small round holes. You could still put the triforce inside it, but just keep it more like long slits rather than small holes.

Hey link so I'm jumping into my own portable and I finished trimming and ordered the capacitors but I can't find the right resistors to use. Could you link me to where you bought them? Thanks! -Alvaro
Edit: meant resistors

just so many i am so cool
Your best bet for resistors is to buy a fat pack of them at a local electronics store or on eBay or Amazon. You'll need more resistors later on, and it's pretty easy to combine two resistors in series to add up to the value you need if you can't find the right value for your regulators.

You could go into digikey or mouser and buy the exact (or really really close) values that you need. But I just got a big pack or general resistor values off Amazon. You can always put multiple together to add to the value you need.

About the speaker holes and 3D printing stuff, my university has two professional printers (one $45,000 and one $120,000) and it would be them printing it for me rather than me myself. So I’ll be sure to talk to them about the designs and everything to make sure it’s possible to get them printed with their equipment.

Here’s another quick design update:
