I want to upgrade the battery time on my ashida. I have the two Samsung 4900mAh inside my ashida and saw that Vapcell and Keeppower offer 6000mAh batteries. that would be 2200mAh extra battery time that would be great. Did someone used them before? They are no knockoff batteries they really have 6000mAh.
greetings

I would be wary about the capacity claims of these cells. We've talked about them before on the Discord server, but so far nobody has tried them to my knowledge. Feel free to try them and let us know if they are in fact legitimate in their claimed capacity!

I don't see a reason to be wary. Mooch's tests on BLF indicate the capacity claims are legit.

They're actually optimal for our usecase, because the additional capacity is only accessible at low discharge currents (<2A per cell). Wii portables use little power and usually discharge at 500mA - 1.5A per cell (depending on pack config.)

There's also the Vapcell N40, a 4000mAh 18650 with similar characteristics. I will certainly be using these new Vapcell cells in all of my builds moving forward!

Thanks for the clarification! I did see you talking about these cells earlier, but wasn't sure if we had any concrete evidence on the capacity claims. I'll have to give them a shot as well!

I saw now that they are a litte bit bigger:
21.6mm x 70.9mm 6000mAh size
21,1mm x 70.6mm Samsung 4900mAh size

do you think it still fit inside the ashida case?

Update: Got my batteries today, they fit perfect. So anyone that wants to upgrade their Ashida's battery life go for it :-)
Thanks for the update! Always happy to see progress in battery technology!
