So just started my portable, already burnt out my U-10, and 9..prob. have to but a new board just wanted to send a pic and see if the trace was cut too deep at the u5.. it seemed like I scraped off the green layer..then copper underneath which I thought was the "trace" layer..corrections welcomed, thanks

just so many i am so cool
For future reference, you really only have to swipe along the severing point a few times with like an exact knife. The trace in question isn't all that deep into the mobo.

IMO what you should do for future reference is first follow the trace back to the via (it's past the omgwtf cut line) and check for continuity between the pad by U5 and that via. After you're sure you're have the right one, slice the trace with an xactoknife until there's no longer continuity. That way you'll be sure you have it right without over or underdoing it.
