Hi,

I see most people use this kind of power jack
. I plan on using a usb type-c on my portable which in my opinion is far better since you can use any phone charger.
Is there any reason , beside price, to use a dc jack?

Most of the newer portables actually use USB C via the board available in the bitbuilt store. The main reason you see so many portables with dc jacks is a combination of the fact that USB c is much harder to integrate into a system without a whole custom board, and USB c is still a fairly new standard, so people haven't had too much time to adopt it into their builds.

Ok.Would something like this be a good solution?
No, I wouldn't use one of those. For starters they're only designed to charge a single cell, which means they'll fail or damage your cells if you try to use one with more than 1 cell. Also they lack safety functions, and reliability is dubious at best. If you aren't going to get a USB-C board from the BitBuilt store or commission one from someone reputable, I'd just stick with a 2.5mm DC barrel jack feeding your PMS/protection PCB. Case designs can always be altered later to include USB-C.
