Question Ashida Build: Stick and Trigger Issues

Hi everyone,

I’ve just finished wiring everything for my Ashida build, but I’m running into a few issues with the sticks and analogue triggers during testing:
  1. Left Stick: It only works horizontally and doesn’t register left or right inputs.
  2. C-Stick: The inputs seem inverted. For example, moving it upwards registers as a downward input. Additionally, it doesn’t seem to recognize the top-left area at all, which is especially problematic since I can’t access the settings in RVLoader.
  3. Analogue Triggers: These are also inverted. Pressing them fully down registers as a neutral position. Furthermore, pressing the left analogue trigger also triggers the “stick left” input.
I’ve checked the connections, and they all appear solid. I also verified continuity between the C-stick and the CX/CY pads, and everything checks out.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing these problems? Are there specific things I should test or recheck?

Thanks in advance for any advice or troubleshooting tips!

can you post a picture of the GC+ board soldering? even though the connections might seem solid, did you test for bridges?

I got the first two issues too on my Gboy months ago.
I needed to redownload the GC+ 2.0 configurator:

Place it inside your apps folder, open it and recalibrate the sticks. On my Gboy that helped very good. I also updated the GC+ firmware after that.

Hope that helps maybe.

For 3. do you have pictures of your soldering on the GC+ and pcbs for the buttons?

thank you! haven't had any success with the recalibration software.

heres a gif! the c stick is mirrored in some way, the left stick only registers up and down and, besides both analogue triggers being inverted, the left analogue trigger registers as left stick right input. my wiring looks good and none of the points on the gc+2 short

those joints look a bit cold IMO... But regardless, one thing you can try is to reset the joystick settings by holding A+X+Y during boot and see if that helps. You might have to do this a couple of thimes, I found that it doesn't always work for whatever reason.
