Odd controller behavior only in RV loader

I am wrapping up my Ashida build and have done everything but VGA. For some reason the C-Stick, Left stick, and D-PAD all function as the C-stick in RV-Loader. When boot up windwaker the thumbstick acts as it should. I have already tried A+X+Y but I am not sure all my buttons work. Since my thumbstick and d-pad are not functioning though I cannot get into the button tester. Any idea what I should do?

Would definitely help seeing some pictures, but I'm pretty sure this is intentional behavior that happens when both joysticks aren't connected properly (for accessibility sake). I've run into something similar after only wiring up one joystick.

If I had to guess, I'd say this means your C-Stick isn't connected properly. I can't say for sure though since I don't remember the exact behavior that happens, and I can't really see what your soldering looks like.

You should be able to put your multi-meter into diode mode and verify each solder joint for your Control and C sticks. If you see 0 ohms of resistance between where one side of the connection starts and the other side ends, you'll know you have a good connection.

Thanks for the advice @cy

I'll be able to update this post tonight with pictures. I tried to reflow everything but I got the same results. Checked with a multimeter but could not find any shorts (except one between the A and B buttons). Only difference now is that up and down on the dpad no longer control the c-stick only left and right. I re-soldered the C stick but nothing changed (C-stick works fine in RV loader).

Edit: everything is fixed now. If anyone else has this problem I would recommend you check your z button. I had used the same tact switches for the Z-button as BT-Sync and Start. This button registered as always pressed and activated a hotkey that enabled the D-pad and left thumbstick to function as the C-stick. Also if your D-pad does not detect up/down inputs check to ensure the button pad is aligned with the D-pad itself and the PCB. Re-aligning everything fixed my issues.
