Melted in the Sun
This was a portable that I finished and shared with a few way back in 2019. I though I made a post on here about it before but I guess not. Seeing these pictures inspire me to do better than this. Combined with the confidence I had in completing my latest pi units, I going to start on a new portable. Here are some of the old pictures I found. I was 19 when I built this, eager to get something made rather than something done well. The triggers worked for sunshine, but its funny remembering how janky it was.

Ah see I'm going though my getting things Done quick era too. And I think I finally passed it but I keep kicking myself about simple things I could have fixed if I had just taken my time. It is good to see some good ol bondo cracks however

Man it felt like no matter how much I sanded, there were always cracks
My MK1 I put a little bit too much pressure on the back and the bondo just gave way. I tried to have a different adhesive as a base for support but sometimes bondo just doesn't like adhering to plastic

Usually it sucks when a console gets bricked. In this case, it absolutely freaking rocks (no pun intended)! I absolutely LOVE seeing older projects like these get revived and finished. Your franken-case work is utterly beautiful and has very few imperfections. Seeing the gamecube controller imprinted out of the front brings me back to the days when I only dreamed of joining this community and building something like this. Genuinely one of my favorite portables aesthetically, beautiful work dude!
