Question Dreamcast keyboard controller

So... I don't know when, but I want to build a controller like this one.

Would someone kill me if I made this? I think it could be good. Also, any thoughts/suggestions on how to make this?

Go for it! This is my in progress model from a while ago, I definitely plan on revisiting and improving this at some point!
I'd recommend starting with the dreamcast controller CAD that Yveltal posted a bit a go: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/threads/sega-dreamcast-controller-hkt-7700.6856/
For the keyboard, if you want to use the original dreamcast keyboard, I suggest recreating the layout (more or less standardized) using an online keyboard tool, like this: https://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/
Then, you can import that layout into your CAD program and design around it.

Dude, thanks for the links! I thought I would have had to frankencase this thing, but that cad work saves a LOT of trouble. You definitely need to finish yours btw, looks insane. I plan to take a page from my failed ps2 keyboard and use a Kensington trackball in-between the right controller half and the keyboard.
