Question Battery Module

Hello,

I am making a portable wii and ordered a battery module from aliexpress that never came.
I have a battery pack one and I wanted to know if it was ok to use it instead.
It's a case for 8 AA type battery they are all in parallel.
The output is 2 amp.
I guess I could also use directly the +5V, if i connect it directly to the USB port.

That's gonna be a no. It'll chew through AAs like nobody's business and that build quality looks shoddy at best. Invest in an appropriate Li-Ion solution, like a red board or one of the BB store BMS modules.
 
Thanks for your answer, first of all, I have 4x 3500mah 18650 batteries and I just want to use the board. I could go for a more expensive solution but it's a first project and it's not fun if it's not a little bit dodgy.

To be serious, I don't want to wait for another module for now, I could maybe change it later(if i ever received the one I ordered), Is it really dangerous to use that? Knowing that I have pth8080 after it?

If that board is expecting 1.5v AAs, you wont be able to use it with your 3.7v 18650s. The regulator stage later won't make a difference if this board isn't suited for protection or regulation of your higher-voltage cells.
 
AAs will not power a Wii safely, never in a million years. They just don't have the constant current output for the Wii's thirsty draw.

If you put li-ions in that box it will fry and catch fire. You have to use the correct hardware, just wait for the red board to arrive.
 
Thanks for the answer, I feel stupid, I thought it was AA sized li-ions that would be 3.7v but it is usually not the case.
However, it is for regular 18650 3.7v cells.
So there should be no trouble at all.
I might loose a bit of power due to the step up to 5v I guess though.
