Have I ever told you guys about how weird the N64 is? It seems to be picky about everything, including power supplies. If I power the N64 off the conventional N64 Power Brick, there is a squeaking noise while it runs, games randomly freeze, and it saves and loads properly. When I power it off a bench power supply, it is quiet as anything, zero stability issues, and games cannot save or load savegames (the games tested with it were Mario 64, GoldenEye, and DK64, WaveRace stores its data properly. Does anyone have any ideas on why this would be the case? the only modifications done to it were putting the MAV video chip on t 3.3v, and doing a RAMwich (foldover), as it is a Rev 9 N64. I suspect this is why the Ugly64 is having the exact same issues with saving.
