This is somewhat of an odd question, is RVLoader permanent? Considering I don't plan on tackling a portable soon, plus I might give this Wii to my parents, I wouldn't want to do something permanent that couldn't be turned around. Same question for the settings at the beginning of the installer. Can the VGA be turned back on, can the Wifi be re-patched in. Any tips would be great.

*edit* Forgot to mention, is it fine to use RVLoader while the Wii is just simply not portable? Or is there just too many issues on using it with it in it's original shell.

Edit:
Nevermind, I simply removed the other SD card from Wii I used for the main Homebrew channel installation, and used it for RVLoader and worked fine. Leaving the comment here in case it helps anyone

Hi everyone, first-timer here, great stuff indeed!

I have done the first part of loading the Homebrew Channel.

Now, I put all the RVLoader files on the root of my USB - I have tried with 2 USB sticks currently.
I don't do any changes at all, and I try to put it on the Wii to get the 3 main options on the Homebrew homepage.

But I get nothing, the Homebrew page is empty.

If I press the home button I see:
1.1.2
IOS58V24.32

Any tips? Could it be USB stick compatibility? Note I got the Wii recently from a random seller just for this project so I will assume is not up to date in general, but so far the other parts seem to work - and I don't see in the RVLoader notes a case mentioned where nothing will show up.

Some newer SD cards don't work properly due to the Wii's ancient SDHC protocol. First troubleshooting step after reformatting and downloading fresh files should always be to try another (preferably 2-4GB capacity) SD card. Glad you resolved the issue

Was wondering how virtual console should be structured in the files for it to work with RVLoader, and how the covers are supposed to be named as well?

You just drop the Virtual Console .wad files in the "vc" folder and they should be automatically detected. Note that N64 and NES VC titles require the MX chip to run.
I'm not sure about the covers, but the images most likely need to be named either the same as the .wad files, or named after the VC title ID.

Gotcha, I'll try that. Wasn't able to get RVLoader to recognize the OoT wad, but I'm still in the very early stages of getting things going for making my first portable. Not even trimmed yet, so it must be a silly issue that I'm having for it to not work.

The VC support is still experimental I believe, so there may be some eccentricities with some titles that need special treatment in a future patch. It's worth trying wads from different sources, as well as ensuring that the wads you're trying to use are the correct regional versions.

Makes sense, hopefully it all gets sorted out soon, would love to do a speedrun while riding an airplane , but honestly I'm just trying to make a portable for the experience. Hopefully it's enjoyable all the way through and not a tedious nightmare I give up on.

In the interrim, you could install the VC wads as channels using WAD Manager and then use an app capable of launching channels to start the VC games.

Is there support for multiple GameCube controllers on version 1.6?
All RVLoader versions support the full 4 GC controller slots. However, I vaguely remember that the GC2Wiimote patch only supports controller port 1

Hmmmmm. What SD card readers did you try before? Do you have one of the recommended Kingston ones?

Also, what gauge is that blue wire? 22AWG stranded wire is needed for supplying power and ground to the Wii, else the system can encounter various issues caused by insufficient power delivery.
I know I'm late, but thank you!! I thought I was having USB issues, but it was power issues because of wire gauge.

How about I'm new, I recently trimmed the wii and installed the module
wifi patching all the games with wiimmfi and they work for me I tried with dbz bt3, pes 2013, mario strikers, and others but with call of duty or other shooters you need porner codes in other loaders it worked but in rvaloder there is no option in the codes to put codes would be possible to add this option in a hypothetical version 1.7

Cheat codes are in the TODO list, but definitely not top priority for now
