@Gman

I'm having this weird issue where the GPU only takes 1.620v from the stock regulator...
Same stock regulator is powering the CPU separately with it's own cable and is consuming ~1.68v

According to my knowledge it should be the other way around :/
Games run smoothly, no weird video glitches or anything... "Smash bros. and Wind Waker"

The 3.3v line is only taking ~3.24v, should I be worried about that as well?

Board used:
Japanese CPU-11 region modded to USA.

Stock Regulator:
3.3v to main reading 3.24v
1.9v to GPU reading ~1.72v on regulator and ~1.620v on motherboard
1.9v to CPU reading ~1.72v on regulator and ~1.680v on motherboard
Ground

Resistance on motherboard:
GPU - GND = 30.1Ohm
CPU - GND = 200.1Ohm
Main - GND = ~2.6kOhm - 3.8kOhm

256mb memorycard connected *works
Wasp Fusion connected *works
Asus eepeecee fan with stock trimmed heatsink *works

greets

It is possible you are using thinner gauge wire then required which creates a voltage drop between the start and end of the wire. Perhaps double up the power wires or use thicker wire? The 3.3v line is more forgiving to voltage drops in my experience.

I'm using standard 24awg. Nothing special.

Board is cut hybrid Almost and OMG

For power, I would suggest you to use 18awg (computer power supply) wire or thicker. Because at some point the thinner the wire; the higher the resistance.

The stock regulator is being powered by the Original GameCube powerbrick.

24awg are the powerlines from regulator to GC motherboard

Using composite video with original AV cable (PAL version cable)

OK... At this point, I don't really know what to do. Maybe cutting the wires shorter, or replace the AC Adapter with another one. :|

Added an extra wire from regulator to GPU and now I read a nice 1.701v

Will do some more testing tommorrow.

@Gman

So tried my custom regulators and same issue :/

Pth08060
1.8v not connected
1.629v connected

Ptr08000

3.335v not connected
3.225v connected

Ptr08000

1.579v not connected
1.467v connected

Tested on trimmed and non trimmed board.
Bench powersupply used with both boards on 7.2v
Amp draw is 1.88

Issue on both stock uses with original powerbrick and custom regulator on benchpower :/

Help please

The voltage output is lower when a load is connected. Compensate by increasing the voltage output if you want.

@Gman,

But such drops... Is that normal?

Edit:

I have a component cable chip connected on the trimmed board if that matters...

I don't know. This isn't your first portable, did you check the voltages on the other ones? Get a Wii ayy lmao

Third board and again issues.

Regulators are bust so it seems... Will try new ones once they arrive on a different board.

New personal record for me. 4th GameCube board.

So new board (PAL) and new regulators and again same issue :/

29.2Ohms GPU
1.9v stock regulator
1.859v connected only gpu
1.805v gpu and cpu bridged

1.728v custom regulator
1.602v connected

108.9Ohms cpu
1.75v stock regulator when bridged with GPU

1.69v custom regulator
1.534v connected

1.82kOhms MAIN
3.45v stock regulator
3.4v connected
3.2v gpu and cpu bridged

3.3v custom regulator
3.265v connected

All resistor values look OK to me and edges are sanded smooth. 24awg used. Wasp, fan, memcard connected.

No controller and no screen.

help please

There is a voltage drop under load, that is usually not an issue I think if you compensate for it either different resistor values.

Have you had these kind of drops before or are mine really over the top?
