Ok well if you shorted it and it made a noise it could very well be toasted. I would say something is damaged on the PMS. It's not that the power button "isn't working". This is because the PMS is damaged and stays in bootloader mode because it can't fully boot since something is damaged. You need a new PMS.I went ham on the pms with some isopropyl alcohol. Power button still doesn't work. I never tried updating the firmware. I do remember I either carelessly probed something or set the pms on a metal surface and heard a faint squeal while powered on. My memory does not serve me well. After that the power button stopped working.
Is there something else I can try/troubleshoot, or should I replace the pms?
