Are you asking about a way to add digital volume controls to an analog amp? Or are you asking for an amp that has digital volume control built in? Because the PAM8803 from the BOM has inbuilt digital volume controls.

There are many ways to do this, some easier than others. It would help if you could tell us which amp you are currently using. It may be easier to start from scratch with a pre-built amp that supports digital volume control.

These seem to be all single potentiometers, but you will need two potentiometers for stereo audio. There are likely other chips like these with two potentiometers built in.
