I dont have accesa to a 1p3t switch and have a 2p3t switch lying around can I use that instead?

You explained it very well but i still don't understand. Aren't they supposed to be connected from A1 to B1, A2 to B2, A3 to B3, A4 to B4?Yeah you can use a DP3T switch for it. Internally it's just two SP3T switches side by side, so just pick one column and wire it as shown.

Nah, it's two separate switch columns actuated by a single nub. One column is its own set of switch connections, the other column is its own set of switch connections. You could technically run two systems with completely separate power supplies off the one switch and they wouldn't interact with each other aside from turning on/off at the same time.You explained it very well but i still don't understand.
