Redfire from Lancashire UK.
Here to mod a Wii, and get back into the gaming from my youth, with a bit of help.
Really glad the JBing / modding / vintage scene is still STRONG!!

Hello! Nice to meet this community! I'm a big fan of the console modding going on here! Hoping to grow and learn with you all so I can bring concepts like this to reality.1695340720813.png

Ultimate ps2 portable ?
Hi. ) Not quite, full-size slim, but “complete”.
Inspired by Macho Nacho's video about the project from Wesk - The PS2 Ultra Slim.
But in my head, it looks a little different.
I want to take a PS2 7000 model that supports IDE contacts (I even already bought a Japanese one), for full compatibility with the PS1.
Without DVD drive but with SSD (IDE to SSD adapter)
I want to put a board from multitap and Blueretro Bluetooth inside so that I can wirelessly connect 4 ps4/5 controllers at once. More memory cards if there is room left.
Then I’ll make a 3D model and order a CNC top of the case or an all-aluminum one that fills all the free voids inside. So that the console is completely silent without a cooling fan (I’m not yet sure if it’s possible to remove all the heat using a thick, all-aluminum case).
Powered by USB-C PD charging (not sure how many watts I need yet)
A real HDMI mod (not sure which one yet, they just started appearing PS2 digital or retro-gem is still in development)
There is an idea to mount a 10-inch monitor matrix into the case from below (imagine if you open the cover of the DVD drive, leaving it open, turn the console upside down, using this cover as a stand - a leg, in order to use the monitor from below)

In general, the idea is to cram all the peripherals into a slim case as much as possible. You can go to your friends and play the console without a bunch of additional devices and with the maximum number of games))

In short, I love PS2 :) I know how to solder, I like to fix something simple in my free time or bring back to life a console that someone was going to throw away. I know about electronic components, and I can read some schematics. But I don’t understand electrical engineering deeply at all, I hope everyone here will help me with this)

PS: I was thinking if I also put a battery in there, it would be just a "portable PS2" .. kind of

Hello all! I'm sure there are many great minds in this site. I'm the dumb idea guy, but scouring the internet I hope this is a great place where I can find individuals that can mutually help me. Currently I am working on an extremely niche product. A Bluetooth controller for the Surface Duo that can be easily revisionsed to future hardware like the Pixel foldables. I have been hiring an engineer from Ukraine for the PCB, and an engineer from Sri Lanka for the enclosure. This project is steadily on route to finalization. My goal is to make products I would love for myself and and to make a living selling them.

Hello everyone. I came here mainly because I had a big idea for a project compared to my skillset, and was hoping that this was the perfect place for me to come to. Looking around for a bit, it does seem like this place has everything one would need to figure stuff out.

Starting my venture into trimming. Figured I might as well make an account on here as it's pretty much permanently open on my second monitor. Starting with a fairly simple wii micro type build that will function exactly the same as a stock Wii (motion controls, plug into a tv, wall power) and mainly have questions about the best way to setup a regulator that gets fed wall power and distribute correct voltages across the board. I'm fairly new to voltage regulation stuff and don't wanna cook anything so if you have resources or solutions please message me! Thanks!

Hi! :) Excited to be here, learned about BitBuilt probably 2 years ago when I saw some G-Boy videos and the idea has been in my head to tackle portablizing a Wii ever since. Just recently decided it's something I seriously want to do so I've been reading all the guides I can find on here like they're scripture. Got my hands on a 6-layer Wii before I knew there were different iterations, so I think I'm going to try to start with a Wii Miicro to get my feet wet and then move on from there! It's very daunting to start learning all this stuff, overcome the initial cost of tools and supplies, and then finally actually start. But I've softmodded my Wii and I'm looking forward to learning more!
