hello.
I am building a wii portable and I bought this BMS board off of AliExpress and quickly realized that I screwed up. I am using a 3S battery and want to charge it with a barrel jack or some sort of USB. I want to know if there are any boards that you recommend or if there is a way to use this one that I bought.

AliExpress:
the problem with this board is that you first of all need consent current and voltage and I cant find anything that is high enough voltage with enough amps to charge well. and I have started hearing right after I bought it that these types of bms boards only stop the flow of current when there is a fault on all 3 cells so only when all 3 are too high.

thank you for your help!

Yeah, those cheap BMS boards from AliExpress usually just provide overcharge/overdischarge protection, not actual charging regulation. You still need a proper CC/CV charger for a 3S pack (12.6V).
If you want USB charging, you’ll need something like a step-up (boost) converter that can take 5V and output 12.6V reliably.
How much current do you expect your Wii portable to draw during use?

I don't currently know how much current that it will draw sadly. I did ended up getting another cheap board off of AliExpress that can provide CC/CV for charging from USB-C. I don't know if I should just pair them up and they will work or if I should even trust them at all. I am quite new to the whole battery thing and I am kinda surprised that there are not very many general purpose good quality BMS boards for sale. but maybe I am looking in the wrong place.
