Question Speaker question

I have a question about speakers. If the stock speaker that an amplifier comes with is 1.5w 8 ohms, can I use a speaker that is 8 ohms and 2 Watts? My guess is that it doesn’t matter and the amp would bottleneck the speaker. Am I right?

Yeah, you can use higher watt rated speakers no issue. The other way around, however, will result in super peaky and distorted audio. I always go half a watt above the amp's rating if I can.
