I'm putting together the last bits of my portable and I noticed I had continuity between 5V and ground. I disconnected USB, screen, and all my 5V components and the short was still there, so I determined it was on the regulator. I stripped all the components off the 5V regulator and tested and there is still a short across the GND and Vout (around 5 Ohms), am I missing something or do I need to get a new regulator?
None of the other regulators have this problem, so I first thought it had something to do with the 5V not actually being connected to the Wii board, but now that I see the short in the isolated regulator I am unsure. The wii has run fine in the past with this same regulator, I haven't changed anything on it in a while but this problem just came up.
This is my regulator setup
