Greetings from Macedonia wild wild western balkan

This is so cool! I’ve never even heard of this existing I need one :D

I am glad that someone think the same as me.

So my 8h shift is over now I can post the rest of the images and see what is inside...

First thing we do is to remove back cover and holder of a screen so we can dissasemble entire thing to the screews.

The truth is very simple the ps2tv is basicly assembled with:

Sony Bravia 22BX300 for tv/screen
and
Sony Playstation2 SCPH-9000x

The sony put new product code and name it PX-300...

They have tv they have ps2 boards at stock so why not...

here is the inside preview (lot of img)

So here more info what was happening inside and why is there buzz noise from laser...
I found three dvd disk inside ps2 :-)

Diferences is slide cd cover that have some 2-3mm space and my gess is that some kid just trow them inside after all the movies are cartoons.
The pile of dvd's was moving inside case and demaged the laser flat cable and flat cable folder from the motherboard. I was able to repair the conector holder and put back in place but flat was dead so this need to be replaced...The cartoons work I have to try on other console that was on my desk and the quallity was very impressive... Back to the topic I took out av connector that was integrated inside (look the quallity of a connector) put standard ps2 av cables and connect ps2 motherboard to my test tv and voila after we hear sound now we have Audio and Video and working motherboard.
So we can continue working on it ...

I have a lot of work private and on my job so this where I get so far...

More to come...
I hope you like this... I was a reader and folower for a while and this is my way of saying thank you for evrithing you guys do here and how can I help ;-)

I wonder if the TV still works enough that it can still boot the OS.

There is a UART serial on the VGA port. See the blog post "I got bored, so I hacked my TV" for a similar method for accessing UART serial on another Sony TV.

KDL-22BX300 service manuals, which appear similar to that model, including schematics, are online, and looks like there is UART stuff connected to the VGA on that model.

You might be able to get UART access, and possibly dump the flash/filesystem containing the OS on that TV. I don't think anyone has publicly shared it before, but it would open up more modding possibilities.

EDIT 20250906: It is not actually similar to KDL-22BX300. It is similar to these models that use the same chassis (AZ1-L):

In that case, the UART port is not muxed with the VGA port and is instead on a separate internal debug port.
