I have a ps2 Slim SCPH-77004, I'm doing a portable (I know It isn't the best model to portabilize but it was the only one I could get) the problem is that I have power light but pressing the power/reset button doesn't do anything. I changed the button and still doing nothing, after that I tested the voltage of the power switch and I get readings from 0.1 to 0.3v I see this value too low. Can someone tell me what's the normal voltage? I'm starting to think that the cxr716 chip is faulty (I have the 70000 service manual wich is pretty similar, if someome has the 77000 service manual I would be thankful) Thanks and sorry if I wrote something wrong, English isn't my native language

did you trim your motherboard?

Nope, I isn't trimmed at all, I just removed de connectors, installed am internal memory card and extended the USB ports. After that it was working. I had it waiting for me to have some free time, and now it wont boot, that's what I can't understand, it justo stopped working (I had the mobo stored im an antistatic bag btw)

Add a high enough resolution picture for us to look for shorts/help you out. Check your joints for shorts and lifted pads.

I must say I'm always floored by the prevalence of english language skills in non english speaking countries, why does everyone know it??

Anyway I have an extra 79001 if you want it

English is the most prevalent language in the world, spoken by over 1.5 billion people. Many countries require or suggest you learn it because it is the most common language in the world :P

You may want to shoot @Gman a PM about that if Notjohnny doesn't take it, I know he could always use an extra or two.

I removed the connector for the light and power switch beacuse it was almost broken (so I don´t lift up a pad accidentally) appart from that, the memory card wires might be looking like they´re shorted but they aren´t (I know, my soldering skill is pretty bad) sorry for the quality, the best that I could get with my phone.

Also, get a toothbrush and clean up that shitty gunk around the joints. And use a multimeter to check for bridges just in case.

yeah, I checked it again, it isn´t shorted but I should clean it of a bit more

EDIT: Should I put a pullup resistor? I can´t find shorts or blown fuses, I have power and the IC seems to work (since the light turns on and I have the lid closed buttons lines powered) the 70000 service manual showed up that there is a resitor and a capacitor that I couldn´t find nearby

It worked, 10k pullup resistor between 3.5v (IC main supply voltage) and one of the pads for the power switch, wired again the power switch, pushed it and booting up.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help, with some sort of luck I´m not going to be asking much more, instead I´ll ve trying to help others:D:D
Also, @Lightning you can send that 79001 mobo to @Gman if you want, I´m pretty sure it will be on better hands lol
