Hi all, i have realized perhaps the ultimate mod for the PS5
It's not just a visual mod, it's also an audio mod, and you can control the speed of the ps5 fan
Box inside there is a screen that displays:
- temperature
- you can increase/decrease fan speed
- choose leds effects
- the status of the ps5: in game or on the dashboard or switch off
- The mod play a sound when you start a game, shutdown or switch on the ps5
- you have 3 sounds that are played 001.mp3 002.mp3 003.mp3 and they are in a folder 01/02/03/04/05 ... /99/
Each folder is an audio theme: PSX theme, god of war, gears of war, halo, transformers, mario
You can create your own audio theme and you can choose your audio theme though bluetooth commands
I have called this modz: the FSRU (Fan Speed Regulator Ultimate)
It's powered through the PS5 JST PH 2mm Fan connector .
You don't need a screewdriver to install it, so yeah it's plug n' play !
It has been designed to fit well withthe PS5 Slim but can be installed easily on PS5 Pro but you will need more leds
For the PS5 FAT, you will need more leds too obviously but in the concern of the temperature sensor you will have to make a 5mm hole in the black plastic cover to make it touch the ventirad
Inside the box you got:
- an ESP32 Wroom programmed in C++
- Buck converter to take the 12v from the fan jst connector and make the 5V for the ESP32
- DFPlayer mini
- I2C oled screen
- 3 little switches
- some wires
- 1 speaker
- 4 jst connector
- 1 temperature sensor
- 1 SD Card of max 32Go
- usb connector of the ESP32 to update it
I have realized the PCB with EAsyEDA and ordered it thanks to JLCPCB
The ESP32 will check on the GPIO33 the voltage of the PS5 PWM
When you are on the Dash it's 0.150 to 0.200V
When you are in game it's 0.5-0.6V
When the ps5 is shutdown it's 0V
Yeap it's great to know that because you can now know easily the status and create audio events !
