Online there has been no mention of a wii u portable, and I believe it can be perfect as its interface doesn't rely on motion controls like the wii, is compatible with wii amd maybe gamecube games and lastly it aparently renders the wii/gamecube games in higher quality.

It's being worked on. Keep in mind that a Wii U uses 4x-5x the power a Wii does so battery life won't be great and it does not render Wii/GC games in higher quality, technically the image quality is worse.
