Also, is there a way to trim the Wii disc drive smaller and relocate it once the wii motherboard is trimmed?

No, PM doesn't let you use discs. No the drive can't be trimmed much smaller than it is, it's basically the size of a disc anyway, and we cut off the points you'd need to solder to for the data lines of the drive.
