Hey everyone,

I’m looking to commission a custom build that combines both an N64 and GameCube into a single system. I’m talking about a legit hardware mashup — like a single unit that has both an N64 and GameCube built into one shell, with a switch to swap between them (not emulation).I understand this is a complex project and I’m open to builder input.

I’ve seen a few old custom builds online where people cram an N64 into a GameCube case or combine both internally with shared power/video, but they all seem like one-off projects.

Goal:
A clean, reliable hybrid system using real hardware for both consoles.

Support for original media (cartridges + discs)

What's your budget?

I’d like to stay around the $800–$1000 range if possible, but I understand that depends on complexity. I’m open to a simpler, more practical approach (shared power, system switching, etc.) if that helps keep things reasonable. Main goal is just having both systems cleanly combined into one unit rather than pushing for extreme miniaturization even if it’s bigger than a standard console.

Let me know what you think would be realistic within that scope.

It's not an overly difficult thing to do however you will need to provide additional outlines such as:

- The shape/design that you have in mind.
- How the unit is to be made (3D printing, CNC, other).
- Whether you want just a model made or the entire unit assembled.

I want this to be a full functional hybrid system using original hardware

Here’s the updated scope:

- Base design: GameCube-style shell, extended if needed to fit both systems cleanly while keeping the GC aesthetic

- Hardware:
- Original Hardware shaping down boards is okay
- Media access: both cartridge slot and disc drive must remain fully usable externally

Power:
- Prefer a single AC input with internal power distribution board handling both systems safely

Video:
- Single video output preferred with internal switching between systems (or equivalent clean solution)

Controls:
- Open to either separate controller ports or a unified solution depending on feasibility

Scope:
- I’m looking for a fully working assembled unit
