hey guys! I've been working on cutting the cube down using a CNC mill. I'll update here as I get closer to finishing and I'll probably end up custom milling and selling everything I don't need (I've got 10 cubes and heatsinks on deck so I doubt I'll need them all)

I've got multiple cuts layed out for the GC main board and this cut is in progress currently for the heatsink. I had to end it prematurely because I didn't program the fun cuts correctly. You can see it got about halfway through the first one.

You should mill off chunks of the corners for the regulators.

I think I may have already done that for that exact reason if this is what you're suggesting:

And I've gotta say, this upload/insert image feature is absolute gold. Makes mobile posting a dream

That's really good to hear! Also it looks good. I can't wait to see what it looks like.

UPDATE: I did a new cut today. Doesn't look like much but it has a lot more behind it with super tweaking the measurements etc. I had to cut it short again because a 1mm pass for the fins still was giving the endmill more tension than I'd like. I'll probably change the step value to .5mm. I'm fairly confident my next cut will be the "final" version.

Damn, that shit looks dope.

This board in particular "needed" a little sanding to the edges (maybe 5 minutes at most of touch ups) but that's because I ran it at a higher RPM than the first cut so the edges looked a little rigid and the high speed cut tended to pull more traces loose etc (5000RPM). But, the first cut I ran on an untested board at 3000RPM looked phenomenal and I plan on cutting all future boards at < 3000RPM. I'm confident that the boards I cut at the proper speed won't need sanding.

It would be sick to try this on Wii boards and not have to sand like a mad man on the edges

Let's make it happen. After I finish the commission this cube is for, I can start working on Wii stuff. And selling all of my cube boards.
