BitBuilt Welcome Thread!

Hello hello!

I am GardenBoat, sometimes with a space. My first console was a GBA in the early 2000’s, and had dreams of portable GC/Wii since I was in middle school. I have a little experience with modding, up to a small amount of soldering experience but I’m a noob with almost everything related to electrical engineering or doing your own wiring. I have a extra softmodded black wii and am going to begin the journey of cutting it up to make a portable! I’ll likely do an Ashida as it is going to be a big project for me, but I’m excited for the experience!!! The projects/skills I have under my belt so far include:

Hard modding my switch lite, with shell swap including the daunting screen swap

1 pre-laminated and 1 drop-in GBA shell swaps (with other mods and more planned)

1 blackout slab 2DS (dyeing plastic)

I’m very excited to learn from everyone here!!

Hi, I'm new at building portables. I just started an Ashida Wii but, just as any beginner, I'm having some trouble assembling it. I found that this community is very helpful and it would be great to be part of it. By the way, it's great to see so many people attempting to build these portables. Hope to see a lot of accomplished projects here.

Hello! I'm Nick, as you can probably tell from my profile, I like cheese.
I'm a beginner who want to build a first portable, and I found this forum very helpful.
Long-term, I want to make a my own custom portable but that's far away.

Hello all, I've been following wesk's work for months on X.
I have no way of printing anything but so impressed by the work done I wanted to see the whole of it.
Cheers

Hiya, Vynisti here! I've had a fascination with the idea of making a Gamecube or Wii into a portable console since I can remember, but having an Ashida video pop up into my YT recommendations thanks to the algorithm a couple months back really kickstarted the drive to actually take that fascination and turn it into a potential hobby. I'm the very definition of a beginner with everything related to making a portable, but I'm hoping that through trial and error I'll get decent enough to maybe design my own someday

Hello! I am ThePlayerRolo, and I love decompiling and modding N64, wii, and gamecube games. I've been really wondering how to make custom controllers, portables, wii mote skins, etc. And just learn More about the hardware of these consoles. I also want to be able to make my own ashida one day, maybe even with wii sensor bar support (if possible)

Hello, just created an account after lurking for a long while. I am currently working on my first ashida portable. Thank you all for the information you share.

Hello everyone!
I’m a high schooler with a growing interest in electronics. I originally joined back when the G-Boy kits were popular and have mostly been lurking since then. Now I’m looking to jump back into the scene and try my hand at building my 1st portable. Excited to learn and be a part of the community!

I found this forum a while ago while searching for old Wii homebrew code. Decided to make an account so I can ask a few questions about the hardware side of things.

After years of lurking, I figured I would make an account so that I could fully interact with everyone here and check up on projects that I'm anticipating. Hello everyone!

Hi all, another newcomer has entered the chat... :D

Been into this stuff since forever, just never post about it. Classic Sony/Nintendo guy, but game on alot of modern hardware too.
Spotted some interesting stuff, so looking forward to adding a little to the community.

Thanks for having me!
- Dan
