BitBuilt Welcome Thread!

Hello. I haven’t been on forums since Gamerweb back in the day. I’m here primarily as a result of modern gaming becoming too expensive and impractical. I’d love to look into projects to create hybrid consoles similar to the Switch, that can both be handheld and docking. Thank you for the community here.

Hi everyone!

I'm an Engineering Student with an unhealthy obsession with everything around video game consoles, specifically the Nintendo Wii.
You can call me Mechabro (yes it's corny, I know, but I'd rather keep details to myself)
I've been interested in Hardware Modding ever since I was 15-ish years old and since i now am an adult with unsupervised access to money, I'm thrilled to finally join this exciting community and get to create my very own projects soon!

I'm can't wait to get to know like-minded people and I hope that i will soon look back at this message and say that I have indeed evolved.

Hi,
I'm a software dev and recently got into hardware repair/hacking/reversing and have been lurking for a while.
Now I have a project to share :D

hi! i'm new here and also new to actually modding stuff (the most i've ever done is a gba sp case swap that caused terrible screen whitening and having a friend mod my 2ds) anyway i'm excited to be here! right now i'm working on a project that's like those screen cases that used to be popular with consoles like the Xbox one except this time with the Wii. (I currently have the Wii part of the case 3D modeled in tinkercad and would like to share it if I find a way to do so without dropping the full legal name since tinkercad just made my email my username)
3rd edit to this post: I couldn't think of a good avatar so i just took a screenshot of the 3D model, now both problems are solved

I've been recently looking at my old consoles and figured I should start doing some stuff with them, I have an old 9000 series ps2 board that has "a little" corrosion damage and I'll be trying to trim it and portable-ize it with the disc drive still intact. I've also got a wii, a dreamcast, couple of 360s and other things lying around that I want to rehome out of the badly spray-painted and abused cases, or just get running again.

Hi,
Mostly here for the wave phoenix project, at least for now until i learn more about ordering pcb online !

Hello! I am a newbie in microelectronics and willing to learn more to mod my Wii and maybe someday do a trim project!

Hello! I am just your average person with no electronics experience besides building and tinkering with pcs. Hope to amass enough practice to build a portable for personal use.

Hello I am new to all of this, but I play piano and clarinet and I have always wanted to get into electronics and thought this would be a good place to start.

Ahoy matey. I'm currently building a portable wii out of scraps, and it is being held together by a string.

Hi, I'm new here. I work in electronic aviation repair and I'm looking to learn more about modding and portable consoles. I'm happy to be here—it's a pleasure to see all the amazing projects from so many people. It's truly inspiring!

HI everyone! Found the forum looking for information about RTD2556 display controllers, working on trying to get those cheap Aliexpress 3:2 screens work well with MiSTer.
