BitBuilt Welcome Thread!

Hello my name is N9-Volt or you can call me Volt and I have a youtube channel if you want to check it out! My dream console i would like to make is a wii portable with a real working disc drive so it can play gamecube and wii games and maybe n64 games with real working original games! I would also like to make a n64 portable with real original games that could also use gameshark which would be awesome!

Hello All! I am joining because I am very interested in the GC Nano. I saw a few videos and love it. I have an old Wii console that I would love to downsize and gain some needed space in my tv stand. Though I'm a bit afraid to cut it up.

Hey everybody. Long time lurker. Decided to create an account in case I have questions about building a portable console.

Cool idea! I'm not sure whether it would be reasonably portable though, as the disk drive itself is almost the size of the entire console.

Hey all! I'm a software engineer, electronics & 3D printing hobbyist, and longtime gamer here to unite all of those things with my first Wii portable project (an Ashida). I know I'll need help along the way (I already managed to run into a software (I think?) issue nobody seems to be talking about (or my Google-fu is failing me...)), and I'm excited to join the community anyway, so... here goes! Nice to meet you all. =)

Edit: I was able to figure out that software problem. One of Hiidra's files got corrupted, Possibly because I accidentally formatted my FAT32 drive with 16K clusters instead of 32K? Anyway, a reinstall let Hiidra boot again.

(Also, dear moderator reviewing this post, it seems like the newbie post filter doesn't like the word "cluster" for some reason? I genuinely have no idea why.)

Hey there - I'm a newb and really excited to join the community. I'm a software engineer and have begun to dabble a bit into electronics. I have some lofty goals in regards to modding old game consoles (specifically creating an n64 handheld), so I'm glad to have found this community of pioneers :)

Lol I think we're in a similar boat

Yeah the spam catcher uses wildcards. Cluster. It only bothers new accounts for a while. No need to worry if a post gets flagged for review, it'll get approved as soon as one of us sees the action log. It's just to stop spammers from posting their sales pitch in every thread on the site a minute after joining

Ahhh, that makes sense now. Thanks for the context (and the post approval)! :D

Hi! I'm an aspiring electrical engineer, and I saw a ton of projects involving old Nintendo consoles that looked really interesting and I can't wait to try my hand at some myself. I hope to learn from these little projects :-)

Heyo. just fumbled my way here looking for something obscure for a decade and a half old nintendo console

Hello, my name is Arthur,
I found this website through Millomaker (French tech YouTuber).
I want to build a portable Wii because I love technical challenges and want to have a nice portable Wii.
I would like to get some help, for example, to integrate an external HDMI port to connect it to a TV.
