Hello and welcome to the Bitbuilt community, You have definitely came the right place!
You can make a worklog once sending a message in the welcome thread, after that go
to the section you want to make your thread in. And press "post a thread" at the top right.
Good luck on your portibilizing journey!

Greetings from Canada

Hello

So I'm completely new to modding and repairs and all that fun stuff. I just got an ifixit essentials toolkit for my birthday yesterday, so I'm really excited to learn. I'm aiming to teach myself how to mod and repair gaming hardware. My first project I'm working on would be some custom game cartridges, but I'm also interested in repairs. Things like replacing the battery in old pokémon games, undoing region locks or fixing joy con drift are what I'm thinking of.

Thank you for having me!

Hi,

It's very easy I really think you can do that, with basic skill on soldering you will be able to replace the battery on old game boy game with clock. (Most of the game with battery like Pokémon it's because they have internal clock) and for joycon drift there is a lot of tuto on YouTube, some with just WD-40 and some other with complete replacement. There is a thread with basic operation like soldering and some other stuff on bitbuilt : Guide - Electronics 101 Videos
Good luck for everything !

Hey Everyone! Just got interested in console modding by watching some of Shanks vids, so I decided to join here, to give it a shot! Thanks guys

Hey all, new member jumping into the scene, with some experience with basic gameboy mods and homemade eurorack synth modules. Grateful for everyone who's been here before me and contributed to the community!

Also, is there anyone I should talk to that can help me get on the discord server?

Have you linked your discord account with the forums? You can do this by clicking your username on the top right of the screen, then navigate to "connected accounts".

Once your account is connected give it a bit of time and our discord bot should grant permissions for the Discord. If this doesn't work for you then please reach out to me by clicking my username/avatar twice to get to my profile and selecting "Start Conversation".
