Question What are the bluetooth limitations?

Can portables connect to bluetooth speakers with software (provided they have the bt module) or is it just for wiimotes? If so, what is that software?

Technically it could. But there are firmware and software limitations which dont allow bluetooth audio streaming. And I'm not aware of any homebrew that allows it (or if it's even possible).

You could do it with an analog bluetooth transmitter that takes the Left/Right audio from your amp and sends it over bluetooth, but you'd suffer a heap of added latency depending on the codec used
