Hi, I'm new to this community and I just bought a G-Boy kit and the recommended solder. I have little soldering experience, but I'm sure I can master the process before my kit comes. I was wondering if anyone that is good at soldering would spare me some tips when I build my G-Boy. Thank you!

Flux, flux, flux, and a temperature controlled iron with appropriate sized tips for the work you're doing.

Tin your iron tip with just a bit of fresh solder to help with heat transfer right before you make your connections.

You don't need giant globs of solder to make a connection. A little solder can go a long way in fine electronics work.

When you strip the wire, expose just enough of the conductor for the pad it will be connecting with. You want little to no exposed copper wire after the connection is made.
