Hi there everyone! I am currently working on a custom ps2 super slim based on the files and project made by @Wesk. The thing about the super slim is there are some novelty features i dont want to remove, such as the IR sensor or the original front power button, so i cant make quite the tiny clean build but i can make a build that i enjoy!

So this is the current state of my ps2 super slim. its in a rough state as its all prototyping and in pieces so i can swap them out if they dont work.( i didnt realize i took a crooked picture til after )

now i know it looks rough, but it is self contained as a concept.

these are all the pieces that are kinda zip tied onto the ps2. as you can see i did not trim the motherboard as i am hoping to add a few components to the right of the motherboard, where it sticks out. You can see i have a ElectronAnalog hdmi mod installed, also just kinda floating.

now the checklist of what i hope to do is as follows:
  • implement the rasperry pi zero 2 w, usb hub, and ethernet adapter into a little hat for the zero such as this
  • learn CAD so i can actually modify the super slim files with some level of competency
  • modify the files so i can implement the raspberry pi ( plus hat! ) inside the case and solder it to the 5v for the usb ports to provide it power
  • re add the ir sensor and power button area to the case.
  • replace the current ps2 fan with a slim 120mm fan over the motherboard at a slow speed so its near silent
  • add an aux connector to the back just so i can have a little extra functionality of a 3.5 jack
  • replace the power brick with a usb c adapter in the ps2
At this point it is late but within the next few days ill add some images showing how i hope to lay everything out and i hope to hear some recommendations. Thanks!

Hey, good stuff! How is it coming along?
I'm especially interested in the fan swap.

Hi there everyone! I'm back with an update. My previous 3d printer broke and wasn't worth fixing so i saved a bit to get a new one so i can finally continue this project! What I have done so far is i modified Wesk files to house the raspberry pi as well as the hat internally. All ports for the pi hat are accessible so you can still use the usb/ethernet/micro HDMI on it. the hat i use is here: Amazon product . I also wired the pi to be powered off the 5v from the usb. I don't have the skills to be able to do the ethernet cable internally quite yet so thats external for now. I still need to have the fan fit internally and order another fan to swap. The pictures are from before and after 5v mod, so some still have usb cable in it. I added the files for the case as well.
