So i've been asking around some questions here and there, ask odd questions to people BUT I think i'm getting there! My custom regulators as shown on the forum will arrive tommorow, the board is trimmed and soldered up, I've got a nice 16:9 screen, two 4000mah flat batteries + the logic board which I removed from a portable charger and PortablizeMii is already installed onto the wii!

Hopefully I will have the soldering/combining of hardware mostly done tomorrow but I already started working on the case which I will 3d print in multiple parts. I'm trying to go for a switch kind of console where the hardware and controllers are separate from each other and (hopefully) will allow you to either connect a customize wii-mote or gamecube controller to the sides or remove them to add more players.

How am I going to split the gamecube controller and connect it to the body? Hell, I have no idea yet!

I'm not new to modding but I am new to Wii-modding and especially up to this level so suggestions, comments, tips, likes everything is welcome.

In the end I plan to release my files (fusion 360, STL, whatever) for others to use and improve upon!

3D model (1)
The body will be based around the screen frame instead of the body and will consist of several layers screwed on top of each other after which after assembly the frame will be placed into a outer shell. This is wat I have so far:

- The bezel/front in which the screen is placed

- The screen is held in place with a frame which also gives place to the screen PCB and the trimmed WII

- 'Accurate' models (in width/height/depth) are attached to the frame, of course components are not drawn but the entire model is set to the estimate maximum height of the end pcbs + components

- The two battery packs will be mounted into the outer shell

Todo: Components: USB/Charger combo, Gamecube ports & Bluetooth dongle, Cooling, Speakers and amplifier & outer shell

3D model (2)

- Added 2 Gamecube ports on each side, this would allow up to 4 players but will also be placeholders/connectors for the actual player 1 controller that will be also be in a custom case (cut up gamecube controller)

- Just a front view, still really clean but needs power switch, audio volume buttons etc.

Inside view without the screen and the front panel

I was going to use that name...... That's some sexy 3D modeling though. Are you going to sand and paint the case once it's printed?

Thanks! And I've just started making it prettier, will update once cloud-rendering is done. I already added the cube ports and have this awesome idea on how to use them!

Oh and yes, I plan on filling, sanding, priming and painting it. I think this will be split in half since it won't fit in 1 piece onto my buildplate.

Recessed screw holes or clips?
